A Modular Motorcycle Helmet Is A Great Safety Choice for the Rider

The modular motorcycle helmet is getting very popular these days. Many riders will not ride with a full face helmet stating its too confining. The modular motorcycle helmet looks like a full face helmet with one exception. This helmet allows the chin bar to be lifted up and away so you can talk, eat or maybe smoke.

These helmets have proven safe however maybe not as good as a conventional full face helmet. When selecting this style helmet look for easy access to release for chin bar. Make sure the helmet is DOT certified even better if its Snell certified. When purchasing a helmet check it for proper fit, place helmet on your head it should be snug and not move side to side. Also check fit by pulling on back of helmet to make sure its not coming off in a crash. Check for comfort some helmets are heavier than others and can be very uncomfortable on long trips.

We have also found some have excessive wind noise from vents. Make sure your new helmet has mouth guard to help prevent fogging of the visor. We suggest using a latching system for chin strap makes removal of helmet much easier.

This helmet could make riding more enjoyable, block wind when eyes and the occasional bug. Overall these helmets are a very good choice from comfort to safety. Try different helmets to you find the best fit some helmets work better for some people and awful for others.

Again never wear a novelty helmet when riding they offer very little protection and are not legal.
