Motorcycle rain gear, no its not a plastic poncho.

When you are out riding a rain storm can appear from nowhere. You need to be prepared when it starts raining down on you. You will find a lot of rain suits at department stores ,but keep in mind they are not designed for riders.

So what makes for a good rain suit, lets look at what a good rain wear consists of.First. Lets look at the material cheap suits are made from pvc they get uncomfortable after the rain stops. They over time crack and leak, most are poorly made and leak when new.

Look for a suit made from nylon with a pvc coating also look for covered zippers. The neck should have velcro so it seals off to prevent water running down your helmet and inside the suit. The suit needs to be vented to prevent being uncomfortable when its hot.

Look for suits with heat resistant material on the inside of the legs to prevent them from melting on hot pipes. Its also a good idea to get a suit with a reflective band or bright colored to make yourself more visible when raining or dark.

I have purchased some suits that were expensive and when riding in the rain I got very wet. So check them out very good.

Look for suits with zippers on the legs it can be a real pain taking off the pants after the rain stops with some suits

.

Aright, you should have enough facts to make a good decision when purchasing your next rain suit.

Keep dry and remember slow down when its raining you have less traction in the rain.
